Mexico has suspended the import of poultry products from Brazil, including chicken meat, hatching eggs, and live birds, due to an outbreak of avian flu (HPAI H5N1) in Brazil. This preventive measure is aimed at protecting the local poultry industry and ensuring animal health in Mexico. The suspension follows similar restrictions by China, the European Union, Argentina, Uruguay, and Chile. The Brazilian government had anticipated the suspension and has already agreed on protocols with Mexico for restrictions on the certification for the export of products in case of avian flu.
