The National Service of Agricultural Health and Food Safety (SENASAG) of Bolivia and the Agricultural and Livestock Service (SAG) of Chile have held a meeting to speed up the sanitary clearance process for Bolivian animal products, with a particular focus on beef for the Chilean market. The meeting led to several agreements aimed at enhancing technical cooperation between the two countries. A Chilean delegation will visit Bolivia in June to evaluate the 'Action Plan' against Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy (BSE), a crucial measure for exports. Inspections of meat processing plants in Chile will also take place. This collaboration aims to meet international food safety standards and provide strategic trade opportunities for Bolivian meat producers, as Bolivia seeks to diversify its meat export markets, currently dominated by China.
