Bolivian Minister of Rural Development and Lands, Yamil Flores, is set to meet with cattle ranchers to discuss the fluctuating meat prices affecting consumers. The government has noted that producers have not adhered to previous agreements regarding meat pricing, leading to market instability. Bolivia, which allocates 90% of its beef production for domestic consumption and only 10% for export, is experiencing market distortion due to speculation and an increase in the price of live cattle. In response, the government temporarily halted beef exports to attempt reducing meat prices domestically.
