Boosting shipments of Peruvian blueberries to Japan

Shipments of blueberries abroad between January and September of 2025 totaled $743,248,000, registering an increase of 25.5% compared to the same period last year, when they reached $592,240,000, reported the Agroexport Management of the Association of Exporters (ADEX). In order to maintain this positioning, the exporting guild organized a visit by a Japanese delegation to various farms in Ica, where the production processes and the quality that supports the Peruvian offer were presented. According to Trade Map, in 2024 Peru was the leading global exporter with $2,270,000,000, accumulating 34% of the total and surpassing the Netherlands (12%), Spain (9%), Morocco (8%), and Chile (7%). In order to maintain this positioning, the exporting guild organized the visit of a Japanese delegation—led by Ambassador Tsuyoshi Yamamoto—to the Family Farms farm in Ica, and to the PROLAN plant in Chincha, where the harvesting, packaging, and cold chain management processes were observed.
