The Biobío Region in Chile has experienced a significant decrease in bovine meat production, with a 33.9% drop in 12 months, totaling 538.1 tons. This decline is largely due to a decrease in steer meat production. Cattle auctioned off at fairs in the region also saw a 7.6% decrease in the same period. The region produced 4.0% of the national bovine meat production. All categories of cattle showed negative behavior, with steers, heifers, and oxen showing the highest negative incidence. The equine species was the second-highest producer of meat on sticks in the region, showing a 55.4% increase in 12 months.
