The National Food Agency (BPN) of Indonesia is providing 20 thousand metric tons of Brazilian beef for 2022 to address the surge in fresh meat prices due to Eid al-Fitr. The agency has priced the frozen cow and buffalo meat at Rp80 thousand–Rp95 thousand (US$5.52–US$6.56) per kilogram, while fresh beef is priced at Rp115 thousand to Rp150 thousand (US$7.94-US$10.36) per kilogram. The BPN is monitoring meat prices regularly to ensure availability and stability. PT Berdikari (Persero), a state-run food holding, is also supplying meat and expanding its distribution network.
