Brazil and China are advancing in a technological partnership focused on the creation of donkeys, with an emphasis on the production of donkey milk and the development of the production chain. The project involves the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco (UFRPE), the Federal University of the Agreste of Pernambuco (UFAPE), and the Department of Animal Science and Technology of the University of Agriculture of China, one of the oldest agricultural institutions in the Asian country, founded in 1905. The objective of the initiative is to expand teaching, research, and the transfer of technologies between the two countries, strengthening the breeding of donkeys for both milk and meat. Between January 9 and 17, professors Gustavo Ferrer Carneiro (UFRPE) and Jorge Lucena (UFAPE) gave lectures and technical visits to Chinese farms and research centers.
