Brazilian ports set a new record in 2024, handling a total of 1.32 billion tons of cargo, marking a 1.18% increase from the previous year. The Port of Santos was the busiest, moving 138.69 million tons, while the Port of Salvador saw the highest growth with a 41.18% increase. Long-haul transport increased by 2.29%, and cabotage by 0.92%, but inland navigation decreased by 9.58%. Solid and liquid bulk transportation saw a decrease, but containerized cargo increased by 20%. Among the cargo, wheat and petroleum gas saw significant growth.
