The Ministry of Agriculture and Supply of Brazil will implement measures to ensure the export of Hass avocados to Chile and Japan starting in 2025. These measures are a result of agreements reached between Brazil's National Phytosanitary Protection Agency and the importing countries' agencies. The measures will include the implementation of risk mitigation management for the fruit borer for exports to Chile and the control and monitoring of the fruit ripening stages for exports to Japan. The Phytosanitary Certification of Origin will support compliance with these requirements. Inspection procedures for Chile have been completed, and properties are being registered to comply with requirements, while procedures for exporting to Japan are still being finalized.
