Brazil made its presence known at two important events held in Istanbul, Turkey, between September 2 and 7: the World Sesame & Peanut Conference 2025 and the WorldFood Istanbul 2025 fair. At the conference dedicated to sesame and peanuts, held from September 5 to 7, international producers, exporters, and buyers discussed the current scenario and prospects of the sector. The Brazilian delegation was composed of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa), the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil), and the Brazilian Institute of Beans and Pulses (Ibrafe) and its associates. Today, Brazil is the seventh largest exporter of sesame in the world, with a 5.31% share in global trade. In 2024, Brazilian exports of the seed totaled around US$ 348 million, a growth of over 58% in value compared to 2023, driven by international demand.
