In the first two months of 2023, Brazil saw a significant increase in pork exports, with a 15% rise to nearly 168,000 tons, generating around 400 million dollars in revenue, a 28.9% increase from the previous year. This growth is primarily due to increased demand from China, the largest importer of Brazilian pork, which has returned to pre-pandemic levels. Other countries like Chile and Hong Kong also contributed to this growth. The Brazilian Association of Animal Protein (ABPA) anticipates a global 10% increase in pork shipments in 2023, largely due to the opening of the Mexican market.
