The planted forest sector continues as one of the pillars of the Brazilian agribusiness, driving chains such as paper and pulp, energy, and civil construction. According to the 2024 Annual Report of the Brazilian Tree Industry (Ibá), the country surpassed for the first time 10 million hectares cultivated, with 7.8 million hectares of eucalyptus, a 41% increase over ten years. The national average productivity reached 35.7 m³/ha/year, almost double that recorded in the Northern Hemisphere, placing Brazil among the world leaders in efficiency. Minas Gerais and São Paulo concentrate 63% of the total area, while the South dominates the cultivation of pine, with Santa Catarina in the lead.
