Brazil and Peru have recently signed an agreement to open up Brazil's apple market to Peru, making Brazil the second country, following Chile, to export apples to Peru. This development is seen as a significant move by both countries' agricultural ministries and ambassadors. The agreement is expected to benefit Brazil, which currently exports a significant volume of agricultural products, including forestry products, meat, and soybeans, to Peru, exceeding 724 million dollars in 2023. The new agreement is also anticipated to be advantageous for Brazil due to the upcoming direct connection between Chile's Chancay Port and China, which will likely speed up the export of Brazilian agricultural products.
