The Brazilian Apple Producers Association (ABPM) will deliver, this Saturday (30), the unprecedented ABPM Apple Club of Brazil Merit Medal, created to recognize personalities and institutions that have contributed to the development of the fruit's production chain in the country. In this first edition, the honoree is the agricultural engineer and entrepreneur Leandro Bortoluz. Born in Caxias do Sul and raised in Vacaria, he graduated from the Federal University of Santa Maria and expanded his knowledge in countries such as Chile, the United States, New Zealand, and Italy, bringing innovations that, in the view of the ABPM, modernized national production and opened doors for Brazil in the global fruit scene. During the ceremony, Bortoluz will also be granted the title of Honorary Citizen of Vacaria.
