Brazilian papaya gains international quality standard

The Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) published, on its official portal, the international classification and quality brochure for papaya. The document represents a strategic advance for the standardization of the fruit in international trade. The initiative, proposed by Brazil, sought to harmonize quality and identity criteria for papaya, ensuring greater predictability and transparency in commercial transactions. The technical parameters will serve as a reference for importers and exporters, reducing non-tariff barriers and strengthening the competitiveness of the national fruit industry in demanding markets.
