Brazilian pork exports are on the rise

Brazilian pork exports, considering fresh and processed products, increased in August. According to data from the Secretariat of Foreign Trade (Secex), 111.5 thousand tons of protein were shipped last month, 7% more than in July, however, 2.7% below the volume shipped in August 2022. Vale remember that August was the sixth consecutive month of exports above 100 thousand tons. Furthermore, the volume shipped in the last month is, so far, the largest of the year, surpassing the 107 thousand tons exported in June. Still according to Secex, in financial terms, revenue obtained from pork exports totaled R$1.23 billion in August, 3.5% above that collected in July, but 10.3% lower than in August/22. From January to August this year, Brazil exported 798.5 thousand tons of pork, a volume 12.3% greater than that exported in the same period of 2022.
