The second estimate of the 2024-2025 orange harvest in Brazil's citrus belt of São Paulo and Triângulo/Sudoeste Mineiro has been raised to 223.14 million boxes, a 3.4% increase from the first estimate, but a 4.0% decrease from the initial projection. This unexpected increase is attributed to the fourth bloom, which makes up 9.1% of the total production, and heavy rains in October and November. However, the average fruit weight has decreased, and the harvest period is expected to be extended, leading to increased losses from fruit drop.
