A new farming model for square-headed perch, introduced in Binh Thuan province's Duc Linh area in December 2021, has proven successful, generating a profit of over 11 million VND after just 4 months. The model involved rearing 10,500 fingerlings in earthen ponds, covering about 700 m2, and investing nearly 60 million VND in costs like pond renovation, seed purchase, feed, and labor. The results showed that the fish grew to an average weight of over 0.2 kg each, selling for 40,000 VND/kg, which, after accounting for costs, led to a profit of over 11 million VND. The model's success is attributed to the fish's good growth and quality, lack of disease during rearing, and a stable market price, making it a potential model for district-wide replication.
