From January to June 2024, China's tea exports fell by 1.7% year-on-year to 172,000 tons, valued at US$655 million, with an average price drop of 21.1% to US$3.81/kg. Despite overall declines, exports of green tea, jasmine tea, and black tea increased, with black tea exports rising by 72.7%. Other scented teas experienced the largest decline at 56.2%. The top export markets were Morocco, Ghana, and Uzbekistan, with Morocco showing the highest growth. Tea imports surged by 41.7% to 25,000 tons, valued at US$72.71 million, with an average price drop of 22.2% to US$2.96/kg. Black and green tea imports increased, while dark tea imports plummeted by 71.7%. The leading import sources were Vietnam, Sri Lanka, and Kenya, with Vietnam showing a significant increase of 515.7%.
