In Batman's Beşiri district, a pioneering trial for buckwheat cultivation has been launched by the Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry, with funding from the Special Provincial Administration. Spanning 40 decares, this project aims to produce gluten-free flour to benefit the 1700 celiac patients in Batman, leveraging buckwheat's gluten-free qualities and its benefits for bee development. The initiative seeks not only to provide for celiac patients but also to broaden agricultural diversity by increasing the area dedicated to buckwheat cultivation.
