In the Kızılırmak Delta, one of Samsun's natural heritages, the "From Buffalo to Brand" project is being implemented with the aim of transforming buffalo breeding into a modern, sustainable, and value-added structure. The project, led by Prof. Dr. Ali Kemal Ayan, an academic from the Department of Field Crop Breeding and Improvement at the Faculty of Agriculture of Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMÜ), has Doç. Dr. Bakiye Kılıç as its education consultant. The coordination of the project will be provided by Tolga Eren, the President of the Ondokuzmayıs Local Action Group Association (OMYEGDER). The project, which has a total budget of 60 thousand dollars and will last for 12 months, aims to protect the buffalo population and strengthen the income sources of the local people.
