El Salvador's President, Nayib Bukele, has warned food sector companies about price manipulation, threatening action if prices do not decrease. He threatened them with potential tax evasion, bribery, smuggling, and false declaration charges. The country also unveiled a national plan to combat and prevent irregular immigration, becoming the first in the hemisphere to do so, as part of the Global Compact on Migration. The plan aims to reduce migrant risks and vulnerabilities, with 23 objectives.
