Bulgaria's oilseed processing industry has faced challenges due to one of the lowest harvests in a decade, with the total harvest estimated at 1.6 million tons, marking a significant decrease from the previous year. The hot and dry weather impacted the production of key crops such as rapeseed and sunflower, leading to a 15% drop in rapeseed harvest and a 15% decrease in sunflower harvest. Despite these setbacks, there is optimism for the future with anticipated increases in rapeseed and sunflower production in the next season. Imports of these crops have played a crucial role in meeting the country's needs, with a notable rise in import figures expected for the next season. The 22nd International Conference BLACK SEA GRAIN. EUROPE-2025 in Prague aims to discuss the future development of the grain sector in the Black Sea and Danube region.
