In 2022, Turkey's tomato export revenue grew by 4% to $377.42 million, with a total of 526,703 tons exported to 54 countries. The largest revenues were from exports to Romania, Ukraine, and Bulgaria. However, the growth in tomato exports did not meet the expected results due to the contraction of the Russian market, which fell from about $200 million to $33 million. Despite this, exports to Balkan countries compensated for the loss in the Russian market. The chairman of the Turkish Association of Greenhouse Producers and Investors aims to increase tomato exports to $500 million.
