Bulgarian fish farms produce 15-16,000 tons of fish per year

The registered fish farms in Bulgaria are about 780. They produce about 15-16 thousand tons of fish, said Bulgarian Farmer Yordan Gospodinov, executive director of the trade association BG Fish. According to him, however, there are 5-6 thousand tons in the gray economy. A similar picture can be seen in fishing itself – there are 1,840 ships and boats in the country of which a hundred are already the ships. The BG Fish Association has 53 fishing vessels, of which 31 are vessels. “According to the whole statistics we have caught 49.6% of the fish with these 53 vessels. The other 50% come from the other 1,800 ships and boats.
