Lages (Santa Catarina)* - Non-alcoholic beers are increasingly gaining space in the Brazilian market. According to Euromonitor data, the country went from selling 140 million liters in 2019 to 702 million liters in 2024. This steady growth has placed Brazil on the global beer scene. According to World Brewing Alliance (WBA) data, in 2018, the country ranked 7th in the global ranking of non-alcoholic beer consumption. In 2023, it jumped to the 2nd position, behind only Germany. Much of this increase can be attributed to the new generation of consumers. According to a study by MindMiner, only 45% of young Generation Z consumers drink alcoholic beverages — the lowest rate recorded since 1962. For this generation, physical and mental health, as well as clarity and self-control, weigh more than the association with excessive consumption and drunkenness.
