At the site of the Central Utilities Service, the Director of the Department of Groundwater of the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation, Zhaiyk Yerikuly, spoke about measures to ensure the conservation of water resources and effective management of groundwater in Kazakhstan, reports Agrosektor.kz. According to the department director, currently, 4803 groundwater deposits have been explored in Kazakhstan for drinking and technical water supply, irrigation, and other purposes. The state balance includes operational reserves of 43.2 million m³ per day, of which around 1.5 million m³ per day, or 3.6%, are currently being used. Specifically, the reserves are: • for domestic and drinking water supply — 21.2 million m³ per day; • for production and technical needs — 2.4 million m³ per day; • for irrigation purposes — 19.6 million m³ per day.
