Rodent damage to winter grain and rapeseed crops in Ukraine has ranged from 1% to 6%, according to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, as of February 16. This is attributed to the weather conditions last week, which included daytime warmness and nighttime frosts. The State Food and Consumer Service of Ukraine has been monitoring the situation. So far, the number of mouse-like rodents and their burrows per hectare has remained relatively stable. As of the stated date, treatment of agricultural land against these pests totaled 633.1 thousand hectares, including 368.2 thousand hectares of winter crops and 233.5 thousand hectares of winter rapeseed, with the majority of treatments using chemical methods.
