According to daily monitoring by EastFruit, most Ukrainian producers note a rapid deterioration in the quality of the 2025 cabbage harvest in storage. According to market participants, Ukrainian farmers are currently rushing to sell off stocks of the old harvest before early vegetables start entering the market in large quantities and market pressure intensifies. Thus, as of today, cabbage is being offered for sale at a price of 2–8 UAH/kg ($0.05–0.18/kg), which is on average 22% cheaper than a week earlier. The drop in prices in this segment is triggered by a sharp decline in demand for vegetables due to the deterioration in the quality characteristics of this produce. In addition, prices are under pressure from significant volumes of imported produce from the new harvest, which are entering the domestic market of Ukraine in sufficient quantities.
