The Regional Government of Cajamarca in Peru has distributed 308 Hampshire Down and Dorper sheep to seven livestock associations in the province of Cutervo, as part of an initiative to boost sheep farming. The delivery, led by Governor Roger Guevara Rodríguez and subregional manager of Cutervo, Edison Carrasco, aims to enhance the local economy by improving the reproduction of these sheep breeds. Known for their rapid reproduction capabilities, the Hampshire Down and Dorper breeds can have 1 to 3 offspring per birth. The beneficiary associations, located in communities such as Cruz Roja and Chaullacocha, have expressed gratitude for the government's support and commitment to rural development.
