Cajamarca: in response to climatic events, Agricultural Insurance is activated with an investment of S/ 2.2 million

(Agraria.pe) In light of the climatological phenomena affecting small producers in the Cajamarca region, the Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation (MIDAGRI) announced that for the current campaign (2025-2026) it will invest up to S/ 2.2 million through the Agricultural Insurance SAC. In this way, the Government supports farmers through instruments such as the SAC, a free insurance funded 100%, which protects all crops and covers losses in the plots of producers in case of floods, torrential rains, droughts, frost, hail, pests, diseases, among others. The new SAC 2025-2026, which is active from August 1, 2025, to August 1, 2026, has allocated more than S/ 73 million to cover more than 2 million hectares of crops in the 24 regions of the country, an amount higher than the S/ 57.5 million recorded in the 2024-2025 campaign.
