[Korean Farmers' Newspaper] Livestock manure has long been treated as the "main culprit" of environmental pollution. Due to its smell, complaints, and disposal costs, the focus of policy has always been on "management" and "punishment." However, a change in perspective is now necessary. Livestock manure is not waste to be discarded, but a fertilizer resource for agriculture and an energy resource for rural areas. At the "2025 Livestock Forum: Beyond Disposal to Complete Utilization" held five days ago, the government, the field, and experts all emphasized the need for this shift. The forum highlighted that crop-livestock cycle agriculture through slurry and liquid manure contributes to reducing fertilizer costs for farming households, and the transition to biogas, solid fuel, and biochar.
