Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet has approved the establishment of a cashew industry center in Kampong Thom province, using public land funds and private sector investment. The center, spread over 200 hectares, is expected to create local jobs and boost income. The Cambodian Cashew Association (CAC) has proposed the establishment of a cashew industrial park in a special economic zone, seeking tax reductions and infrastructure support. Cambodia, with the world's third-largest cashew growing area, produced 840,000 tons in the first 10 months of 2024, an increase of 26% from the previous year.
