The Cambodian Cashew Association, led by Vice President Suy Kokthean, is collaborating with Turkish and American businesses to develop a specialized cashew growing area in Kampong Thom province, Cambodia. Supported by the Cambodian government, this initiative aims to boost cashew production and export through international partnerships. Japanese company Mirarth GreenTech plans to construct two large-scale processing plants in the region. The project seeks to establish a cashew center by the next harvest season, initially focusing on exports to Turkey, with plans to expand to European and Middle Eastern markets. Cambodia, currently the second largest exporter of raw cashews, aims to become the largest within 3-5 years, having exported over 560,000 tons in the first eight months of 2024.
