In 2024, Cambodia's Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries reported significant growth in the country's agricultural sector, with crops contributing 61% of the total agricultural production. Despite facing challenges like insects and climate change, the country managed to increase its grain output by 2.59 million tons from 2023, reaching a total of 39.4 million tons. Rice production alone reached 13.89 million tons, ensuring domestic food sufficiency and allowing for an eightfold increase in rice exports to 8.2 million tons. Additionally, the country saw a substantial rise in its crop exports, reaching 12 million tons and generating revenue of around US$5.3 billion in 2023, a significant increase from the previous year.
