Bolivia: Camelids, a source of food security

The camelid sector is of great importance to Andean communities as it is a factor that guarantees food security in this region and is an economic pillar by generating income for producing families, said Hugo Lamas, an agricultural engineer from the National Institute of Agricultural Technology of Argentina. The specialist highlighted that the commercialization of products derived from camelids, such as meat and fiber, represents an economic pillar for the communities of the region.
