Ahead of Dairy Farmers of Canada's 2024 Annual General Meeting, Agriculture Minister Lawrence MacAulay announced over $8.5 million in funding for two key projects through the AgriAssurance Program. The investment will support the DairyTrace national cattle traceability program and the proAction quality assurance program, which promotes high farming standards. Specifically, Dairy Farmers of Canada will receive up to $5 million over five years to enhance sustainability and public trust, and up to $3.57 million to bolster DairyTrace. These initiatives aim to improve environmental stewardship, animal health, and food safety in the Canadian dairy industry.
