Beef export volumes in Canada decreased by 3% in August compared to the previous year, falling 2% below the five-year average for the month. However, from January to August, beef exports saw a 5% decline in volume but a 3% increase in value. While export volumes increased to certain regions such as the US, Hong Kong and Macau, Mexico, and the EU27, they declined significantly to Japan, Southeast Asia excluding Taiwan, South Korea, Taiwan, and MENA. Additionally, there were no exports to the UK or China. Federally inspected slaughter decreased by 5.3% in August compared to last year but increased by 23.6% compared to July.
