Canada resumes imports of Brazilian beef

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has notified the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAPA) of the approval of the update of the International Health Certificate (CSI) for the export of fresh boneless meat and raw processed meat products derived from cattle of Brazilian origin to Canada. With the approval, the states of Rio Grande do Sul, Paraná, Acre, Rondônia, as well as 14 municipalities in the states of Mato Grosso and five in Amazonas that have been recognized, since 2021, as free of foot-and-mouth disease without vaccination by the World Organization for Animal Health (WHO). In these locations, there are currently eleven establishments authorized to export beef meat products.
