A delegation from the Confederation of Farmers of Portugal (CAP) is in Brussels to discuss challenges in Portuguese agriculture, particularly those related to the Strategic Plan of the Common Agricultural Policy (PEPAC). They aim to advocate for simplification of the CAP and harmonization of environmental rules for European and third-country food products. Meetings with the European Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development, MEPs, and other committees are planned. The delegation will also address concerns about the poor execution rate of PRR funds, lack of support measures, and the absence of a structured vision for agriculture in Portugal.
