As of February 14, Hai Duong province in Vietnam has approximately 4,087 hectares of winter vegetables ready for harvest. The department of Agriculture and Rural Development is facing challenges in transporting and consuming carrots, as 90% of its 26,766 tons are exported and the remaining 10% is for domestic consumption. Due to the complex Covid-19 epidemic in the province, particularly in Cam Giang district, the Department is seeking cooperation from relevant agencies to ensure smooth transportation of agricultural products and is suggesting that establishments be allowed to operate after receiving negative Covid-19 results. The department is also urging localities to support the harvest of isolated households and is encouraging businesses to buy, transport, and sell agricultural products from farmers.
