REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA — The National Food Agency (Bapanas) is optimizing Food Distribution Facilitation (FDP) to mitigate the surge in prices of red cayenne pepper ahead of fasting and Eid al-Fitr 2026. This measure focuses on reducing transportation costs from production centers to Jakarta to quickly correct prices in the main market. At the Kramat Jati Wholesale Market (PIKJ), the price of red cayenne pepper has started to decline after additional supplies entered from several regions. The distribution intervention is considered a significant factor in keeping prices under control amid seasonal demand increases.
