Beypazarı, a district in Ankara, Turkey, is a major producer of carrots, accounting for about 40% of the country's output. The district relies heavily on agriculture, with around 30% of its population dependent on it. The process of carrot production involves uprooting, washing, and sorting the carrots, then storing them in cold storage for market demand. However, farmer Ali Osman Bozkaya has been experiencing difficulties due to decreasing water supplies and increasing costs of equipment as technology advances. He also pointed out that merchants only buy carrots that cost a minimum of 25 liras, despite the market price being between 45 and 60 liras.
