Despite the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic, Vietnam's cashew industry saw positive growth in 2021, with exports reaching 577,400 tons and bringing in $3.63 billion. The US remained the largest export market, followed by the EU. The industry overcame labor shortages, high sea freight costs, and port congestion, with exports to the EU increasing by 16.5% in volume and 7.9% in value. The reduction of import tax rates from the EU and Taiwan is expected to further boost exports in 2022.
