The article highlights the significance of the European Union (EU) market, which was the second-largest importer of Vietnamese cashew nuts in 2021, accounting for 23% of the total volume and 22% of the total value. With the implementation of Free Trade Agreements like EVFTA and UKVFTA, exporting enterprises are encouraged to invest in market research, product diversification, and brand building to compete against growing competition, especially from countries like Cambodia. The Vietnamese cashew industry faces challenges such as limited production and deep processing capacity, particularly for roasted and flavored cashews preferred by European consumers, and weak marketing and customer communication skills.
