According to the Conjunctural Report released by Emater/RS-Ascar this Thursday (18), the planting of the new cassava crop has been completed in the administrative region of Lajeado, in São José do Hortêncio. The entity points out that the cultivated area shows a trend of gradual reduction over the years, driven by the preference of producers for crops with higher added value and lower labor demand, such as citrus fruits. Currently, cultural treatments are ongoing, with emphasis on the cleaning of areas through weeding. In Cruzeiro do Sul, Emater/RS-Ascar informs that the crop is in a period of marketing intercrop, with the crops in vegetative and reproductive development phases and a predicted harvest for February of the next year.
