Catalonia's Minister of Climate Action, David Mascort Subiranas, has unveiled a fifth aid package worth 7 million euros for the olive sector to counteract the effects of the ongoing drought. This increases the total aid given to the primary sector over the past year to 168 million euros. The aid will be allocated at rates of €170/ha for dryland olive trees and €240/ha for irrigated ones in certain communities. The maximum aid surface is set at 70 hectares for professionals and 15 hectares for non-professionals. So far, the agricultural sector has received around 67 million euros from these aids, with an additional 87 million being processed.
