The Turkish Statistical Institute has released new data on animal production, highlighting a decrease in the number of cattle in Denizli by 4.3% between December of the previous year and June 2021. As of June 2021, the total cattle count in Turkey stood at 18 million 124 thousand 106 heads, with Konya having the highest number. On the other hand, the number of small ruminants (sheep and goats) saw an increase of 8.2%, with Van hosting the largest flock of sheep. Denizli province ranked 26th in Turkey for its sheep numbers and 22nd for its goat numbers, showing a slight increase in goat numbers. Overall, this data provides a snapshot of the current state of cattle and small ruminant populations in Turkey.
