Due to the impact of an earthquake in the first quarter of the year, the Southeastern Anatolia region's share in Turkey's overall exports decreased to under 30%. However, by the end of 8 months, the region regained its position as the leader in the grains, pulses, oilseeds, and products sector. The sector's exports increased by 28.9% in terms of quantity and 9.1% in terms of foreign exchange income, with pasta, wheat flour, and vegetable oils being the most exported products.
