TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Three students from Kouhu Junior High School in Yunlin created eco-friendly cleaning products from oyster shells and presented their project at the global Design for Change event in Tokyo, showcasing the creativity and green efforts of Taiwanese students, CNA reported. The four-day event, running through Sunday, attracted over 500 young people from 32 countries to present their solutions for sustainable development and eco-friendly initiatives. According to Design for Change Taiwan, part of Yunlin’s coastal area generates large amounts of oyster shells from local aquaculture, which causes odor and waste issues. The students experimented with the shells to create cleaners. Their project stood out among nearly 100 entries nationwide, earning them the chance to represent Taiwan at the event.
